After more than twenty years of teaching traditional craft around the country and in foreign lands, Jarrod Dahl was primed to start a craft school. With his experience and connections to craftspeople near and far and his wife Jazmin’s background in educational institutions—organizing and promoting events and workshops, they had the skills needed to make it happen. In 2021, with the support of a benefactor, they purchased a commercial property in Ashland, WI and started working on the future Woodspirit School of Traditional Craft. Together they organize a wide variety of courses and events that empower people to learn new skills, practice old skills, connect with natural materials and create with their hands.
Jarrod & Jazmin appreciate the joys of life. You might see them sailing in the Chequamegon Bay on their O’Day Daysailer, playing songs on accordion and stand up bass, or in their backyard enjoying good food and craft cocktails.
