It has been a good while since we last wrote about our little Northern Wisconsin Craft School. Which means we have a lot of news to catch up on including all the classes that happened after July, events, travels, and some details about our third season of classes in 2024. Here we go!
Sweet Summer
We’ve had refreshing swims in Lake Superior, delicious local white fish for Fish Fry Fridays in Washburn, and noodled about on the bay in our sailboat—all the signs that summer here is in full swing. We are excited to show our guests from Japan all the goodness that is Chequamegon Bay.

Happy Spring! Craft Nights Begin and other news…
We are in our second year of running the school and have now hosted six classes this season: Spoon Carving Masterclass with Barn the Spoon and Jarrod Dahl, Backstrap Weaving with Louise Young, Danish Cord Stool with Dawson Moore, Bird Carving with Mike Loeffler, Shibori and Indigo with Jazmin Hicks-Dahl, and Spoon Carving with Jarrod Dahl. Craft Film Nights are Here
Winter nights are perfect for meeting up with friends and watching movies. That’s what we’ll be doing at Craft Film Nights!
Hang out with other craft nerds and watch films about traditional craft and traditional people. Doors open at 6:30pm for social time before the screening, BYO beverage and we’ll provide the popcorn. Please let us know you are coming by sending us an email!

Barn the Spoon & Jarrod Dahl at Woodspirit School in 2023
We have some exciting news to share. As part of Barn’s visit from the UK to the US this coming Spring, 2023 he’ll be teaching a workshop at Woodspirit School in Ashland, WI. Actually we’ll be teaching it together.
We’re calling it a Spoon Carving Masterclass and the class will happen March 31-April 2, 2023.
