Winter Greetings!

Winter Greetings!

It has been a good while since we last wrote about our little Northern Wisconsin Craft School. Which means we have a lot of news to catch up on including all the classes that happened after July, events, travels, and some details about our third season of classes in 2024. Here we go!

In August, we had a wonderful Nankin Kanna Spoon Carving Workshop and a great time hosting our Japanese friends—Kotaro, Shuko, and Masashi.

These three amazing craftspeople inspired and honored us by their visit to Northern Wisconsin.

We are still in awe that we succeeded in offering both a high quality workshop and a well attended public lecture & demonstration to the craft community and the Chequamegon Bay Area.

Following their visit Jarrod taught Pole Lathe Turning to a sweet little group of die hards.

We hosted our second Annual Flax Day where we processed home grown flax, combed, and spun it into thread.

We processed natural dye plants Weld, Woad, and Indigo Persicaria, took home seeds for next year’s garden and finished with a textile show and tell.

Next year’s Flax Day is August 31 followed by Flax to Linen September 1. Hope you will join us!

In September we went on an epic trip to Handworks in Amana, Iowa, then to three craft festivals in England and Germany, and to Denmark to weave baskets. Learn more about our craft adventure at Craft Night on January 6th—see details below.
